Background of CEO Dr. Senaka Wijesinghe

Dr. Senaka Wijesinghe has over 30 years of experience in the corporate sector in Sri Lanka. He has held senior and top management positions in both public and private organizations, including the Ceylinco Group, Union Assurance, LOLC Group, HNB Group, Ceylon Fisheries Board, and the Ministry of Fisheries. He was also an active member of the Trade Chambers in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Wijesinghe is a veteran marketer and academic specializing in management and marketing. He has been engaged in social service projects as a member and Director of Social Service of Rotary Club International. He has over 15 years of experience as a trainer and motivational speaker in private higher education institutions in Sri Lanka. He holds a PhD in Business Management and is a Fellow (FCIM) of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. Additionally, he has a CIAM qualification from the Chartered Insurance Agency Management (CIAM) program at LIMRA USA.

As the CEO of Agrovista, Dr. Wijesinghe brings a wealth of experience and expertise. He has spent 20 years in the agricultural sector, developing a multifaceted skill set in leadership, strategic planning, sustainability, and community development. He began his journey in the agricultural industry 10 years ago, starting from the ground level and gradually ascending through various roles. Through hands-on experience and a relentless pursuit of knowledge, he gained invaluable insights into plantation management, market dynamics, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Prior to becoming CEO, Dr. Wijesinghe held key leadership positions within Agroventures Plantation and other reputable organizations, where he demonstrated exceptional vision, resilience, and a track record of driving growth while upholding the highest ethical standards.

As CEO, Dr. Wijesinghe is deeply committed to advancing Agrovista's mission of sustainability, innovation, and community empowerment. He leads by example, inspiring his team to embrace change, innovation, and strive for excellence. His leadership is characterized by strategic foresight, operational excellence, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the world.
